A custom home construction company operating for more than 30 years, First Texas Homes moved its headquarters from Arlington, Texas, to Dallas’ Uptown entertainment district in 2010. Having been located in Arlington since 1985, First Texas Homes, which is one of the largest builders of custom homes in Texas, is now housed in a 15,000-square-foot office space in the area’s Crescent complex.
The Crescent is a mixed-use property that comprises nearly 1.3 million square feet of net rentable area. The complex offers tenants views of the Dallas skyline as well as access to a five-story underground parking garage and on-site restaurants, retail, and other services.
Although First Texas Homes had been in Arlington for quite some time, it had maintained a longstanding interest in relocating to Dallas. “We always wanted to be in Dallas, and we love the Crescent,” said Randall Van Wolfswinkel, the company’s chief executive officer, in a 2010 Dallas Morning News article.
Located above the Stanley Korshak store, the office space was formerly occupied by the Rosewood Corp., which moved across the street. The move was facilitated and brokered by Crescent Real Estate Equities, a Fort Worth-based real estate firm owned by Goff Capital and Barclays Capital.
